"Do not cease to drink beer, to eat, to intoxicate thyself, to make love, and to celebrate the good days." - Egyptian Proverb
This gem of a rural pub richly deserves all its awards. It’s welcoming and friendly, warm-hearted and deliciously comforting.

Cheese & Pickled Night - 8:30pm Saturday 8th October 2016! PDF Print E-mail

The more variety of cheese the better!Camra's Cider SiteWe're having a Cheese and Pickled night, lots of cheese, a great night, lovely atmosphere and good fun to kick off our October Cider Festival! Bring along a piece of cheese as your ticket to feast on many others, last time we had 30 different cheeses with - amazingly- only one duplicate.  Our next is on Saturday 8th October 2016!

Cheese Nights: We generally start at 8:30pm on a Saturday Night once a quarter to enjoy each other's company and of course, some cheese and pate. Bring along a piece of cheese, fruit cake, pate, pickle, etc, to add to all the others (our record is a little over 50 varieties of cheese) and you can enjoy them with your tipple of choice.

Be adventurous with your cheese / pate selection as there will be plenty to try if you don't like what you've bought with you. We will provide plenty of crackers, water biscuits, rice cakes and butter. We've also had folks bring in cake (cheese & fruit cake is lovely), home-made pate, cheese cake and other exotic fare to add to the fun.

Do check out famous Beer Writer of the Year Pete Brown and what he had to say about us here.

Any cheeses you like - cow, sheep, goats, etcDuring previous nights we've enjoyed as many as 50 varieties of cheese, these were all washed down with real ales, ciders, perrys, wonderful wines and a good time was had by all.

Blue Bell Inn, Halkyn Post Office PDF Print E-mail

altWe are very pleased to be able report that after almost 3 years the Blue Bell Halkyn Post Office opened as a Post Office Local on Thursday 30th January 2014 at 11am.

The Blue Bell Inn's Post Office is unique in that it is the first in Wales that will provide daily services over a joint Post Office counter and bar (which will still see the usual beverages partaken after PO hours)!

A new beer featuring Paul the Postie!altWe had our official opening by Rt Hon David Hanson MP at 2pm on Friday 7th March.  We also had two special beers on too, one with Postie Paul and the other with the Post Office team who made it all happen for us.

We will be operating as a Post Office Local (services described on their website www.postoffice.co.uk).  We will also be planning on selling a range of teapigs teas (currently 15 varieties), our own fresh ground 100% arabica artisan coffees from Flaming Bean and organic hot chocolate.  We want to continue delivering our award-winning service so while we work through our learning curve, we will not be serving alcohol during weekday lunchtimes as we anticipate that these Post Office sessions will be the busiest, we'll review the practicalities of this over the coming weeks.

New Eros Coffee - Organic & Fairtrade PDF Print E-mail

Being as passionate about hot drinks as our other drinks, we've found a fantastic Organic FairTrade coffee.

Our Organic Espresso beans are described as a soft, fruity, 100% organic espresso from Central America, East Africa and India. A floral fragrance from East Africa coupled with a good strong depth of body from Indian Robusta makes for a complex and rich espresso.
