Beer - Old English bēor . Ultimately from late Latin biber ‘drink’, from bibere ‘to drink’ (source of English imbibe and beverage).  Unlike Ale, Beer used to be and still is brewed by professional brewers.  Stronger than Ale it lasted some months.

We thought we would join in the fun and spread the
message with another lovely night and lots of
atmosphere among the candles!

For the tenth year running (we took part with Sydney, Australia in 2007, 2008 and the UK caught up in 2009-16 - check out the video below) we're planning an evening together by candlelight enjoying ourselves over a glass or two of our wonderful real ales, ciders and fine wines. We'll be doing it again this year (our tenth!) where you'll be very welcome to bring a candle, candelabra or any similar and safe form of light that doesn't need to be plugged in.

At 8.30pm on Saturday 19th March 2016 everyone is invited to turn off their lights for just one hour - Earth Hour - to show that it's possible to take action on global warming. We joined them in previous years with great success and now we are repeating the effort again, why don't you come and join us?

It's a simple action that can make the world of difference if everyone takes part, and it sends a powerful message that we care about the future of the planet.

But we need your to help make it happen. By coming down to the Blue Bell Inn, you'll be contributing twice over as we'll have our lights out as well as you.
biggrin (maths was never our strong point)

Oh yes, don't worry about our beers, ciders and wines as we don't use electricity to get them into the glass!
